waste REDUCTION, diversion & zero waste Consulting

Think Zero LLC home page

Think Zero LLC was founded with a strong belief in the principles of Zero Waste, which is defined by the Zero Waste International Alliance as follows:

Zero Waste is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. No trash is sent to landfills or incinerators. The process recommended is one similar to the way that resources are reused in nature.

Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use.

Zero Waste means designing and managing products and processes to systematically avoid and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials, conserve and recover all resources, and not burn or bury them.

Implementing Zero Waste will eliminate all discharges to land, water or air that are a threat to planetary, human, animal or plant health.

While we understand achieving Zero Waste is a lofty goal for most businesses that may be achievable sometime in the future, we have worked with businesses who have meaningfully increased their diversion from landfill and incineration, and reduced overall waste generation, in less than six months. We look at Zero Waste comprehensively, as a means to not only reduce waste of materials but also toxins, water and energy, and greenhouse gas emissions, as well as an opportunity to develop the circular economy.

At Think Zero, we believe that every little bit (of avoided waste) counts, and that’s why we are working with businesses to make a meaningful impact every day.

Our Approach

Think Zero LLC is a consulting firm specializing in helping building owners and corporate facilities with their waste reduction and diversion planning and implementation. We take a comprehensive approach to waste reduction which looks up and down the supply chain, both at the procurement of goods and how these goods are used and disposed by the company, and in turn finding opportunities to reduce, reuse and divert materials, while saving money by reducing costs. We work with companies to ensure they are meeting or exceeding all local commercial waste-related laws.

Think Zero LLC is a member of TRUE (now part of GBCI) and Sarah is certified as a TRUE Zero Waste Business Associate, able to assist facilities with gaining their Zero Waste certification and/or achieving waste reduction and diversion goals.
